ABSTRACT
This study aims to examine the mastery of tarannum in Quran memorization among tahfiz students by analysing the internal and external factors that influence its effectiveness. As an art of beautifying Quranic recitation, tarannum not only serves as a cognitive aid in strengthening memorization but also requires the mastery of technical elements such as voice control, breathing, and melodic patterns, which may affect the memorization process. This study employs a qualitative research design using semi-structured interviews and document analysis to explore the lived experiences of tahfiz students in integrating tarannum into their memorization practices. The findings reveal that internal factors, including motivation, consistency, and emotional stability, as well as external factors such as academic schedules, use of technology, learning environment, and social support, play significant roles in determining the effectiveness of Quran memorization through tarannum. The study concludes that effective mastery of tarannum requires structured training approaches, systematic time management, and sustained psychological and environmental support in order to strengthen the quality of Quran memorization among tahfiz students.
Kajian ini bertujuan meneliti penguasaan tarannum dalam hafazan al-Quran pelajar tahfiz dengan memberi tumpuan kepada faktor dalaman dan luaran yang mempengaruhi keberkesanannya. Tarannum sebagai seni memperindahkan bacaan bukan sahaja berfungsi sebagai sokongan kepada daya ingatan, malah menuntut penguasaan aspek teknikal seperti kawalan suara, pernafasan dan irama yang boleh mempengaruhi proses hafazan. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif melalui temu bual separa berstruktur dan analisis dokumen bagi meneroka pengalaman sebenar pelajar tahfiz dalam menguasai tarannum semasa proses hafazan. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan bahawa faktor dalaman seperti motivasi, konsistensi dan kestabilan emosi, serta faktor luaran seperti jadual akademik, penggunaan teknologi, suasana persekitaran dan sokongan sosial memainkan peranan penting dalam menentukan keberkesanan hafazan al-Quran melalui penguasaan tarannum. Kajian ini merumuskan bahawa penguasaan tarannum yang berkesan memerlukan pendekatan latihan yang berstruktur, pengurusan masa yang sistematik, serta sokongan persekitaran dan psikologi yang berterusan bagi memperkukuh kualiti hafazan al-Quran pelajar tahfiz.
